I don’t know why but this one just wasn’t clicking for me. It could be my mood. Maybe it just wasn’t the right genre for me at the time, I’m not sure. I do enjoy this author’s writing but I just couldn’t get into the characters or the plot.
I started this series at the beginning of June. The first book was my favorite. The second book was good but the characters were as memorable for me. This one was like the second but also a bit less. There is really nothing wrong with the book per say. Maybe I just didn’t care for the characters because the relationship lacked. 🤷♀️ There are a lot of maybe’s in this review, haha.
There are cameos from the previous characters and I really liked reading about them once again.
Besides the relationship lacking, I also did not like the part about the cat being ran over. As a cat owner that is a no-go. I skipped over all the parts talking about it. The cat didn’t die but yeah, not for me.
Overall, it was okay. I just couldn’t really enjoy it for whatever reason and it is what it is.

Totally relatable! Sometime we just aren’t in the mood for certain genres and we don’t even know it until we start reading. Do you think you’ll give this another try if that is the case? This happened with me a few months ago. I haven’t gone back to those books but I still think about the story sometimes so maybe next year? Hey you were committed though reading all three books!

I’d definitely give this author and series (if there is more) another try. I think sometimes contemporaries can be hard because it’s not a genre that I love. I have liked a lot of contemporary romances but these characters just didn’t hit it out of the park for me.

Agreed! That’s me as well, I’m not huge on Contemporary. Maybe if the series progresses it will be easier to connect? It’s so hard to tell sometimes!

Ewwww. I have taken an immediate dislike to this book because of how the author has chosen to spell Cormac (I refuse to acknowledge her incorrect spelling LMAOOOO!)

Sorry that this one was just okay. I do know how our moods can greatly affect our enjoyment, though. That’s such a major factor for me, and unfortunately sometimes I don’t even seem to know my own mind well enough to know which genre will work for me. I’m hoping to get to this series at some point.

Ah, sorry to hear this one just didn’t work out for you. As a mood reader I totally get what you mean. It’s especially frustrating when I’m not sure what mood I’m in and that uncertainty totally influences my reading experience. After reading your first two book reviews I’m still keen to give this series a try though! Hope your next read is better 🙂

I’m glad you are still going to check these books out! I think they are still worth reading. I’ve been in a weird slump lately, haha. The last couple books I have tried (MG) just haven’t been working.
