Owlcrate Unboxing: Tales of Trickery

Bookishunboxing2

Hello Fellow Bookworms!

Today I have an unboxing for Owlcrate’s December box: Tales of Trickery. It was a decent box and I did enjoy most of the items. The book is one that I read as an arc but did not like so I ended up selling the book.

itemsheader

  • Hand Warmer Inspired by Sky in the Deep (Kit Cronk Studio)
  • Wood Wick Candle Inspired by Grace and Fury (Novelly Yours)
  • Ear Muffs Inspired by Caraval
  • Book Sleeve Inspired by Sorcery of Thorns (Chatty Nora)
  • Coloring Book & Pencils
  • The Guinevere Deception Exlusive Edition
  • Enamel Pin Inspired by Monthly Book

My favorite item would be the book sleeve or ear muffs! Both have great designs and have a practical use.

My least favorite item would be the book, ha. I just didn’t like it. The cover is nice at least!

Owlcrate Unboxing: Through The Enchanted Forest

Bookishunboxing2

Hello Fellow Bookworms!

Today I have an unboxing for Owlcrate’s November box: Through The Enchanted Forest. This is probably one of my favorite boxes they have ever done because the colors are just beautiful! Next month will have a booksleeve in it so I am also excited for that!

itemsheader

  • Throw Blanket Inspired by The Cruel Prince (@bookmarkd.tattoos)
  • Metal Tassel Bookmark Inspired by Uprooted (@herpaperworld)
  • Wooden Ornament Inspired by The Raven Boys (@juniperandivydesigns)
  • Reading Planner by Blue Star Press
  • Planner Stickers by (@lovepipsticks)
  • Special Edition of Winterwood by Shea Ernshaw
  • Enamel pin (@fourseasonsfox)

goodbadheader

My favorite item would have to be the blanket. I may not like the fandom for it but the colors and design are beautiful! At least it doesn’t really scream The Cruel Prince.

My least favorite item would have to be the planner stickers. I am sure they will somehow end up in my daughter’s hand and honestly, I’m just not much of a decorater when it comes to my planners.

Shelflove Crate Unboxing: White City

Bookishunboxing2

Hello Lovely Readers!

This box comes from Shelflove Crate it is their special edition box inspired by the series Stalking Jack the Ripper. My box finally arrived after being late and it not getting delivered on time from USPS. So many issues with this box but honestly, the contents were worth the wait! I loved everything that was included and only ended up selling one item.

Shelflove will be reworking their business plan starting next year so hopefully that will help with their boxes being late. I have tried a couple of their monthly boxes but I much prefer their special edition ones.

itemsheader

  • Exposition Art
  • Faux Leather Carry Case (@kitstercronk)
  • Notebook (@noverantale)
  • Chess Pieces (@silketara)
  • Dustjackets (@abbymalagaart)

  • Passport (@morgana0anagrom)

My favorite item was either the tea set, board game, or the dustjackets. I can’t decide! Everything was awesome.

My least favorite item would have to be the chess pieces. They have added them to each box since January but I haven’t collected them and don’t want to so I sell them and make some money back.

Dreamy & Co Unboxing: Catalyst And Chaos

Bookishunboxing2

Hello Readers!

I am here with another unboxing. The October 2019 theme was called “Catalyst and Chaos”. It was themed around The Illuminae Files. Dreamy & Co is the same owner that runs Flick the Wick. This box is just smaller and only costs around $25 shipped. I have never been disappointed because the artwork is always amazing.

itemheader2

  • Doubled-Sided Wooden Bookmark
  • “She is Catalyst. She is Chaos” Socks
  • Enamel Pin
  • Double-Sided Sturdy Bookmark
  • Double-Sided Sturdy Print (@arz28)
  • Acrylic Keychain
  • Heimdall Candle (@flickthewick)
  • Wooden Art

goodbadheader

My favorite item was the art print of the characters. I have collected every piece I can of them because they are some of my favorite characters! Definitely one of my top book series.

My least favorite item was the socks. The design is great but I just don’t like getting socks in boxes. Sometimes they just end up fitting weird.

Flick the Wick Unboxing: Once Upon A Faerie Dream

Bookishunboxing2

Hello Lovely Readers!

Today I have a great unboxing for you as this might be my favorite box Flick the Wick has done. This was the October 2019 box called “Once Upon A Faerie Dream”. They included books that had fae. One of those fandoms being A Court of Thorns and Roses. The items in it were awesome and even though it was a week late, I think it was worth it. (They also are not in a habit of shipping late and this has been the one case for me)itemheader2

  • Candles: The Iron Realm, Kiaran Mackay, Winter Solstice in Prythian, Autumnlands
  • Acotar Enamel Pin (@dreamyandco)
  • Iron Fey Throw Blanket (@stellabookishart)
  • Throne of Glass Enamel Mug (@eviebookish)
  • Acotar Book Pouch (@bxromance and @stellabookishart)
  • 2x Double-Sided Sturdy Print (@morgana0anagrom and @dreamyandco)

goodbadheader

My favorite item was the blanket. It is very soft! I also really like the design of it. Plus, since it is getting colder around here it’s perfect.

My least favorite item was probably the pouch. I do the the artwork on it but it’s just a cinch pouch with no padding so I wouldn’t think it would be a great book pouch.

Flick the Wick Unboxing: Investigating The White City

Bookishunboxing2

Hello Lovely Readers!

Today I am sharing an unboxing for Flick the Wick’s September box: Investigating The White City. For the theme, it was all based around the Stalking Jack the Ripper series. Although I didn’t like the last book, I still liked the series as a whole. This is a candle box company that I have really enjoyed. I have bought a few of their boxes now and am excited for the October one to ship since it will have a blanket!

border2

Included In This Box:

  • Mr. Cresswell Candle (4 oz. glass jar)
  • Miss Wadsworth Candle (2 oz. glass jar)
  • The Streets of London and Bran Castle Candles (2 oz. tin)
  • Enamel Pin (@dreamyandco)
  • Drawstring Backpack (@eviebookish)
  • Tumbler (@dreamyandco)
  • Wooden Bookmark (@dreamyandco)
  • RMS Etruria Bath Bomb (Ritzybath)
  • Notepad (@dreamyandco)
  • Double-Sided Sturdy Print (@taratjah and @dreamyandco)

My favorite item had to be the art print of Audrey and Thomas. It has been my favorite depiction of them. My least favorite would have  to be the bath bomb. I just don’t take baths so it isn’t practical for me.

Beacon Book Box Unboxing: Five Dark Fates

Bookishunboxing2

Hello Bookworms!

I am coming at you with another unboxing that should have been posted awhile ago, heh. Oopsie!

giphy.gif

This special edition box comes from Beacon Book Box. I posted another unboxing from there for Stalking jack the Ripper which can be found here. One good thing about this company is that they are great for when it comes to shipping on time. I have had one issue with them which was discussed in the other unboxing. I did eventually get replacements but they sent the first ones to my sister and not the address I had given them. Not sure how that happened. In total it took about 4-5 emails with them from beginning of September to the last part of October. That’s a good bit of time especially when they said they would get to it by a certain date.

I am glad that they finally replaced them. Hopefully for others it won’t take as long. I will most likely purchase from them again because I do enjoy their special edition boxes and find them to be worth the money. I do not care for their monthly boxes and that is just my preference.

Anyways, let’s get into the unboxing!

Favorite:

I love the tapestry so much! The artwork is beautiful and I already have it hanging in my office! I also use the blanket everyday.

Least Favorite:

I wasn’t really a fan of the pin. I’m not one that collects them. I also only keep the ones I really like. This one just missed the mark for me.

Fabled Merch Unboxing: Stalking Jack the Ripper

Bookishunboxing2

Hello Readers!

Here is another unboxing for you! This one is Fabled Merch which was Wick & Fable but they changed their sub box name. Their September box was themed around the series Stalking Jack the Ripper.

This was my first purchase from this company. I will say that it was an okay box but I did end up selling a few items from it since I didn’t care for them. I definitely prefer Flick the Wick over this company.

They also have a tendency to ship a bit later than when they say so it’s something to be aware of.

border2

Included In This Box:

  • Audrey Rose Inspired Candle (4 oz.)
  • Thomas Inspired Candle (4 oz.)
  • Bran Castle Inspired Candle (2 oz.)
  • Murder Hotel Inspired candle (2 oz.)
  • Ceramic Campfire Mug (@jezhawk)
  • Book Pouch (@stellabookishart and @kirsty.carter.art)
  • Glow-In-The-Dark Enamel Pin (@jezhawk)
  • Character Cards (@artbyisambeleza)
  • Sturdy Print (@darkandbeautifulart)
  • Wooden Bookmark (@blanca.design)

border2

Favorite:

My Favorite Item was definitely the campire mug. It is so pretty! I probably won’t use it to drink out of because it’s a nice decoration for my shelf, haha.

Least Favorite:

My least favorite item was either the book pouch or the art print/character cards. The art just wasn’t my favorite interpretation of the characters. The book pouch is a nice idea but it isn’t going to keep my books safe.

Owlcrate Jr. Unboxing: Tunnel of Bones

Bookishunboxing2

Hello Readers!

Today I am skipping Top Ten Tuesday (because honestly, I have no idea what titles I would change.) and bringing you another unboxing!

This one is a little late as this box arrived on September 3rd but better late than never, am I right?

tenor.gif

So, let’s just stop with all the chit chat and move right along into it!

border2

Included In This Box:

  • Tunnel of Bones Signed by Author
  • Author Letter and Poster
  • A choose your own adventure book: ‘Could You Escape the Paris Catacombs?’ by Matt Doeden
  • Black Cat Plushie (@wildrepublic)
  • Silver Mirror Pendant
  • Tote Bag (@blycrawford)
  • Skull Soap (@leeloosoap)
  • Travel Stickers (@foxville_art)

My favorite item out of this box had to be the extra book or the cat. I have a black cat and so anything I can find of one I like to get! I also like the extra book because as a kid I was always reading the Choose Your Own Adventure books.

My least favorite item was the necklace. It is a really cool piece and fits with the book well but I am just not big on jewelry.

Overall I was impressed with this special edition box especially because it was their first when it came to their Jr. box. I’m glad I got it because I love this series and now I have a signed copy!

Beacon Book Box Unboxing: Capturing the Devil

Bookishunboxing2

Hello Lovely Readers!

Since I did an unboxing for Faecrate’s Capturing the Devil box yesterday I thought it would be a good time to get my unboxing up for Beacon Book Box’s Capturing the Devil box.

grey line

When it came to prices, the only different was about a dollar. I felt that Beacon’s was a bit better when it came to the items they decided to include and were definitely more practical than some of Faecrate’s items.

The only issue I have had with Beacon is their customer service. I have been waiting on replacement prints from their other box and it has taken almost a month, a few emails, and hopefully they will be delivered this week. If not, time to go back to emailing.

Here’s the thing, I get that people that run these companies have other responsibilities and that compared to others they are a small business. But, for your business to grow you need great customer service. Although they have been real nice about the situation, it still sucks that I have been waiting a month when each time I email they tell me they will get it out the next day. If you can’t do it the next day then tell me in a week. I am fine with that, it’s the not getting it that is the problem.

tenor.gif

At least, their boxes are good and their shipping is on time, ha.

Included In This Box:

  • Thomas Cresswell Blanket (@dianadworak)
  • Audrey Rose Pillowcase (@dianadworak)
  • Escaping From Houdini-inspired Wallet (@kdpletters)
  • Aunt Amelia’s English Tea (@thesimplybookishco)
  • Hunting Prince Dracula-inspired Notebook (@catarinabookdesigns)
  • Stalking Jack the Ripper-inspired Tote Bag (@stellabookishart)
  • Thomas and Audrey Rose Woodmark (@sjwonderlandz)
  • Team Cressworth Pennant (@abbygale)
  • London, Bran Castle, RMS Etruria, and Chicago World Fair Prints (@pinapali)
  • Moonlight Carnival Candle (@spideyscents)
  • Bonus Content from Author
  • Signed Copy of Capturing the Devil by Kerri Maniscalco

My favorite item out of the whole box was the wallet. It is such a practical item and it is large!

My least favorite item would have to be the pennant or the notebook. I just don’t have enough room on my wall for everything and I think the pennant would have been better if it had a cool design instead of just words. The notebook is practical but honestly, I just have too many, lol.
