Hello, Lovely Bookworms!
Top Ten Tuesday was created by The Broke and the Bookish in June of 2010 and was moved to That Artsy Reader Girl in January of 2018.
For today the topic was a freebie which means that I got to pick my own! I am excited for this because there are some great books out there that I feel are quite underrated. I want everyone to read them! So, here is my list of underrated books!
1.) Spectacle
This one came out in February and I was lucky to have read it before that since I got it from NetGalley. It is a Historical Fiction with an added bit of paranormal abilities. The main character must solve murders as she sees it done through the killer’s eyes. It’s an amazing book set in Paris! If you like Stalking Jack the Ripper, you will like this one!
2.) The Girl King
This one came out in January and again, I read it early from NetGalley. It was such a fantastic book! There are shamans and a girl who will do anything to keep her sister and people safe. There are some huge plot twists in this and I cannot wait for the sequel! I also own two copies of this so yeah, I like it. Haha.
3.) To Best the Boys
I received this book in a Fairyloot from I think March. I wasn’t sure if I would like it because it didn’t really seem like my thing but honestly, I was quite surprised by it! If you like strong-willed girls and labyrinths, then definitely check this one out!
4.) Dark of the West
Here is another one that came out in February that I read early thanks to NetGalley. I fell in love with the characters and plot that is inspired by WW2. There are star-crossed lovers and some morally grey characters, plus intense plot twists! Also, this author is the sweetest!
5.) The Last Namsara/The Caged Queen
I am going to put these two together even it technically isn’t a series as they are more companion novels. I really enjoy these books and am so excited for the third book! They are each about a different character from the world that this author created and the plots are intense and the plot twists are wild! I got my sister to read these and she loved them as well.
6.) Give the Dark My Love
This one is dark. I love the added necromancy and it plays a huge role the plot. The main character is quite morally grey and I am so excited to see where her story goes in the last book!
7.) The Mortal Engines Series
Another set of books I am grouping together under one number! I started this series last year and loved every moment of it! Each book is a time span of their life leading up to the last book which is the main characters older with their own daughter. Honestly, that last book made me cry so much!
8.) The Boulder Wolves Series
Oh look, another series! Now this is one that I wouldn’t normally pick up but I am sad that it has ended. I loved getting to know these characters and will miss them dearly! If you love paranormal/shifter romance then definitely read this series!
9.) Wild Blue Wonder
I am not usually one for Contemporary especially YA but this one I picked up from my library last year and fell in love. It is a heartbreaking story about loss and finding yourself after tragedy. It is so good!
10.) All Our Broken Pieces
This is another YA Contemporary that I absolutely enjoyed! I honestly liked it more than I thought because the beginning was a bit meh but it really took off!
There is my list of 10 underrated books that you should definitely check out!
Have you read any of these books? What book out of this list would you want to read? Let me know in the comments!
