“This time the gossip columnists have it wrong. London’s most elusive bachelor Anthony Bridgerton hasn’t just decided to marry—he’s even chosen a wife! The only obstacle is his intended’s older sister, Kate Sheffield—the most meddlesome woman ever to grace a London ballroom. The spirited schemer is driving Anthony mad with her determination to stop the betrothal, but when he closes his eyes at night, Kate’s the woman haunting his increasingly erotic dreams…
Contrary to popular belief, Kate is quite sure that reformed rakes do not make the best husbands—and Anthony Bridgerton is the most wicked rogue of them all. Kate’s determined to protect her sister—but she fears her own heart is vulnerable. And when Anthony’s lips touch hers, she’s suddenly afraid she might not be able to resist the reprehensible rake herself…” (Goodreads)

I’m happy I got back into this series!

Although this is a quite bit different than the show, I really enjoyed how it played out and all of the banter between Anthony and Kate. They are hilarious, especially while playing Pall Mall. I’m happy that the extra epilogue included another round of it!

Kate and Anthony are very similar when it comes to being stubborn and relying on ones own self. They had a lot of growing to do and we see that change throughout the book. Anthony definitely had a lot more growth since it is his book and he lost his father which he internalized deeply. I couldn’t help but laugh at the bee scene even though it was very surreal to him!

Their romance is very slow but that is what I like and it paid off in this case. It was very sweet and I loved when they were together.

I liked the little moments we got from the Brigderton siblings. Eloise and Colin are a favorite! They also like to meddle.

Overall, this was an enjoyable read and I can’t wait to continue on.
