Hello, My Lovely Bookworms!

This meme was formerly hosted by MizB at A Daily Rhythm and is now hosted by Sam at Taking on a World of Words.

It consists of answering these three questions:

  • What are you currently reading?
  • What did you recently finish reading?
  • What do you think you’ll read next?

Currently Reading:

I am currently listening to Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince by J.K. Rowling. It has been an intriguing read so far. I’m curious as to why they switched a character in a scene in the movie because I thought I was misremembering it, ha.

I am going to start reading The Boy, the Wolf, and the Stars by Shivaun Plozza. I got distracted by other books so I hadn’t started it yet.

Recently Finished:

I took a couple days off from reading this weekend. I decided to play video games with my husband instead. I did dnf a few books lately though because I wasn’t meshing with them. The last two books I read was a duology, Poison’s Kiss and Poison’s Cage by Breeana Shields.

Reading Next:

I am going to be listening to Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows by J.K. Rowling next. I am excited to finally have another series I can cross off my list.

I will be reading another e-arc so I am caught up (besides 1) on NetGalley and it is Set the Stars Alight by Amanda Dykes.

First Lines Friday (12/6/19)

Hello Lovely Readers!

First Lines Fridays is a weekly feature for book lovers hosted by Wandering Words. What if instead of judging a book by its cover, its author or its prestige, we judged it by its opening lines?

  • Pick a book off your shelf (it could be your current read or on your TBR) and open to the first page
  • Copy the first few lines, but don’t give anything else about the book away just yet – you need to hook the reader first
  • Finally… reveal the book!

“There was a reason Gavin Scott rarely drank.
He was bad at it.
As in, face-planted on the carpet while reaching for the bottle bad.”
