Weekly Update | 7-3-22

Hello Lovely Bookworms!

This week has been very busy!

I took the kittens to the vet on Monday, my daughter’s birthday was on Thursday but celebrated yesterday, and just doing a lot of gardening inbetween.

Today and tomorrow will just be days for relaxing. I need to finish bringing some things up from the garage that haven’t been moved up since we moved. I do want to get some reading done since I have time. Other than that, it’s just the usual around here lol.

Weekly Update (10/31/21)

Hello Lovely Bookworms!

Another week down!

This week has been an interesting one. My child has decided that sleep isn’t important and hasn’t been going to bed until around 11pm. We haven’t changed anything in our routine so I don’t get it, lol. I just wish she would get sleep since she gets real crabby without it. At least school has been going well.

Today is a busy day of getting my week ready. I have planned out my grocery list for tomorrow’s pickup I also need to write some blog posts! Which is what I am doing now while listening to an audiobook. Multitasking is great!

I hope you all have been having a great weekend! ❤

Hello, My Lovely Bookworms!

This meme was formerly hosted by MizB at A Daily Rhythm and is now hosted by Sam at Taking on a World of Words.

It consists of answering these three questions:

  • What are you currently reading?
  • What did you recently finish reading?
  • What do you think you’ll read next?

I am listening to The Return of the King by J.R.R. Tolkien. I’m not very far into it but I am looking forward to the conclusion of this trilogy!

I started Once Upon A Broken Heart by Stephanie Garber last night. I was iffy about starting it because i have seen some say they didn’t like it or it wasn’t as magical. I’m happy to say that I have been enjoying it and when jacks made his first appearance I couldn’t help but grin!

I also started The Eye of the World by Robert Jordan. I’ve been curious about this one even before knowing it would be a series on Amazon. My husband also wanted to read it so we will read a bit a day!

None This Week.

I’m not sure what audiobook I will pick up next.

I’m also not sure what I will read next, lol. I’m sure I will find something, hopefully!

Here are some options:

Weekly Update (6/20/21)

Hello Lovely Bookworms!

This week was so-so.

It’s been actually pretty painful on my body though, ha. A few days ago my dog decided to chase after a rabbit while being on his lead outside. I was on the wrong side of it and saw it all play out in my head before the fall. I did fall on my butt and caught myself for the most part but somehow I bruised my side, elbow, and have rope burn on both ankles that still hurt while they are healing. I’m glad it wasn’t worse since it was on concrete.

I didn’t do much reading and kind of have just been playing World of Warcraft. Sometimes I’m just feeling the other more at times so I just roll with it. I did get approved for two anticipated reads and I am currently reading one! It’s good so far.

Today I’m spending time with family and celebrating Father’s Day. I wish I could be with my dad but I’ll give him a call later and I did send a card in the mail though.

I hope you all had a great week and weekend! ❤

It consists of answering these three questions:

  • What are you currently reading?
  • What did you recently finish reading?
  • What do you think you’ll read next?

I started Frostbite (Vampire Academy #2) by Richelle Mead this morning. So far I am curious about the plot but the characters can still be meh at times. We will see how it goes!

Last night I got through 30% of The Inheritance of Orquídea Divina by Zoraida Córdova. It’s very much about family mixed with magical realism. I am liking it so far and can’t wait to finish it.

  • Vampire Academy by Richelle Mead (audiobook) ⭐⭐⭐
  • For the Wolf by Hannah Whitten ⭐⭐⭐⭐
  • A Spot of Trouble by Teri Wilson (arc) ⭐✨
  • Arsenic and Adobo by Mia P. Manansala ⭐⭐⭐⭐
  • Those Not-So-Sweet Boys Vol. 2 by Yoko Nogiri (manga) ⭐⭐⭐⭐

I’m iffy about continuing the Vampire Academy series so we will see after I finish the second book. If I don’t continue I’m not sure what audiobook I will start.

My next arc will be The Splendor by Breeana Shields. It’s an anticipated read of mine so I am looking forward to it.

After that or before, I will read Tokyo Ever After by Emiko Jean. It’s in from the library so I need to get to it!

My audiobook is Inkheart by Cornelia Funke. I am only 10% through but I am liking it so far. It’s cool to see them mention so many books as well.

I will be starting Six Crimson Cranes by Elizabeth Lim and Fae Pursuit (Tangled Fae #4) by Sarah K.L. Wilson today. I want to finish the Tangled Fae series and I only have two books left so it’s ready to get it done!

  • Battle Royal by Lucky Parker (arc) ⭐⭐⭐⭐
  • The Dire King (Jackaby #4) by William Ritter (audiobook) ⭐⭐⭐⭐
  • The Royals Next Door by Karina Halle (arc) ⭐⭐⭐
  • The Last Words We Said by Leah Scheier (arc) ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

If I like my current audiobook then I will continue with the series and go onto Inkspell by Cornelia Funke.

My next read will be Fae Conquerer (Tangled Fae #5) by Sarah K.L. Wilson. I will finish this series this week!

I am listening to Incendiary by Zoraida Córdova. This is a reread as I wanted a refresher before going into the sequel. I am about 60% through at the moment.

Last night I started The Road Trip by Beth O’Leary. It has started off with an intriguing plot so I am looking forward to seeing where it goes!

I also started The Emperor’s Blade by Brian Staveley. This is adult fantasy which is a genre I want to read more from. Since it is a longer book I am going to read about 10% a day. So far it is interesting but hasn’t completely grabbed my attention yet.

  • Forest of Souls (Shamanborn #1) by Lori M. Lee (reread) ⭐⭐⭐
  • Broken Web (Shamanborn #2) by Lori M. Lee (arc) ⭐⭐⭐⭐
  • You Deserve Each Other by Sarah Hogle ⭐⭐

I will be reading Shipped by Meredith Tate. It just came in from the library recently and I am looking forward to it! I just love the colors on the cover.

My next audiobook will be Jackaby by William Ritter. I have the series on my shelf and since my library has the audiobooks I might as well give them a listen!

Weekly Update (5/16/21)

Hello Lovely Bookworms!

This week has actually been pretty average. Nothing crazy has happened and I’ve just been getting more yardwork and housework done.

I’ve been reading a lot and for the most part enjoying what I have been picking up. I should finish another book today and start on another arc. I’m finally down to 16 arcs left so I am doing pretty good!

I am still playing World of Warcraft with my husband and brother. It’s nice to connect with my brother since we live a couple states away.

Hopefully this week is just as smooth and things keep going the way they are!

I hope you all have been having a fantastic weekend!❤

  • The Burning God (The Poppy War #3) by R.F. Kuang ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
  • Castle in the Air (Howl’s Moving Castle #2) by Diana Wynne Jones (audiobook) ⭐⭐
  • Red Wolf by Rachel Vincent (arc) ⭐⭐⭐
  • Sisters of the Snake by Sasha Nanua & Sarena Nanua (arc) ⭐⭐⭐✨
  • The Box in the Woods (Truly Devious #4) by Maureen Johnson (arc) ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
  • The Forest of Stolen Girls by June Hur ⭐⭐⭐⭐
  • Incendiary (Hollow Crown #1) by Zoraida Córdova (audiobook)
  • Forest of Souls (Shamanborn #1) by Lori M. Lee (reread)

Right now I am 27% through the audiobook for Forest of Souls by Lori M. Lee. I read an arc for it last year but since I have the sequel as an arc I figured I’d do a refresher before diving in! The audiobook kind of feels dull though and I think I would much prefer to read it.

I started Sisters of the Snake by Sasha Nanua & Sarena Nanua last night and am about 20% through. It is good so far but I can tell there will be plot holes. I definitely think I can look past them though as I am intrigued by the magic and the world-building so far.

  • The Burning God (The Poppy War #3) by R.F. Kuang ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
  • Castle in the Air (Howl’s Moving Castle #2) by Diana Wynne Jones (audiobook) ⭐⭐
  • Red Wolf by Rachel Vincent (arc) ⭐⭐✨

I will be listening to Incendiary by Zoraida Córdova next as I wait for the sequel to come in from the library. I need to refresh a bit! Haha.

The next book I pick up will be another arc. I finally below 18 so that is good! I think I will pick up The Box in the Woods by Maureen Johnson. I loved the Truly Devious series and I can’t wait to dive into a new mystery!

I’ve barely started the audiobook for Castle in the Air (Howl’s Moving Castle #2) by Diana Wynne Jones. I am going to try to make a dent in it today.

I started The Burning God (The Poppy War #3) by R.F. Kuang. I’m only 20% into it and only reading about 10% a day since it’s a long book and although I’m enjoying it I’m trying not to get burned out from long books, haha.

I’ll be starting Fae Captive (Tangled Fae #2) by Sarah K.L. Wilson. I finished the first as a reread a couple months ago and this will be a reread as well before I get to the last three books that will be new to me.

  • The Tragedy of Dane Riley by Kat Spears (arc) ⭐⭐
  • Sunny Song Will Never Be Famous by Suzanne Park (arc) ⭐⭐⭐⭐

If I like my current audiobook I will continue on with House of Many Ways (Howl’s Moving Castle #3) by Diana Wynne Jones.

My next book will either be Fae Nightmare (Tangled Fae #3) by Sarah K.L. Wilson or Tell Me When You Feel Something by Vicki Grant (arc).
