synopsis header
“Fans of Susan Dennard’s New York Times bestselling Witchlands series have fallen in love with the Bloodwitch Aeduan. And now, finally, comes his story.

High in a snowy mountain range, a monastery that holds more than just faith clings to the side of a cliff. Below, thwarted by a lake, a bloodthirsty horde of raiders await the coming of winter and the frozen path to destroy the sanctuary and its secrets.

The Bloodwitch Aeduan has teamed up with the Threadwitch Iseult and the magical girl Owl to stop the destruction. But to do so, he must confront his own father, and his past.” (Goodreads)

Here I am with another reread!

This is my second time through this particular book and I still enjoy it as much as the first one. Everything just started getting so good when it came to the plot and the different twists that were happening.

I only cried once but its fine. That one part will always get me.

I can’t wait for Dennard to continue this series because it can only get better from here!

Old Review:

“For Lady Fate makes all men choose eventually. Even Bloodwitches.”

Bloodwitch follows Aeduan as he tries to help Iseult and Owl stop the destruction that is coming. He must confront his father and the past if there is to be a chance.

Let me just start this review by saying, wow! Susan Dennard knocked it out of the park with the third installment in The Witchland series. I still am not able to deal with my emotions for this book and the book hangover is still real. I don’t know if I will ever bounce back.

All of our favorite characters are back and trying to stop the destruction that is coming. The story mostly follows Aeduan, the bloodwitch, and there is even flashbacks of his past included. We start to understand more of his upbringing and why he is the way he is but we also see him grow in many ways and it was just beautiful!

Although he is the center of it all, we still get other PoVs and honestly Vivia has really grown on me in this book! She really sets down her own path and becomes who she needs to be and not what others want her to be. Also, her father is the worst. Merik is still trying to live his best life since his life got turned around and I still feel bad for him and he made have made me cry.

Speaking of crying, I may have cried more than once because the plot is just so crazy and devastating and this book will get you filled with all the emotions and when you think you are safe to be happy, she crushes all your hopes and dreams. But, I loved the plot and this has been the best book yet from this series!

I don’t want to say too much else because I am trying to keep this spoiler free but it is so hard! I love this series and I love this book! If you haven’t started this series, don’t wait any longer just go read it!

Hello, My Lovely Bookworms!

This meme was formerly hosted by MizB at A Daily Rhythm and is now hosted by Sam at Taking on a World of Words.

It consists of answering these three questions:

  • What are you currently reading?
  • What did you recently finish reading?
  • What do you think you’ll read next?

Currently Reading:

I am going to be starting Bloodwitch by Susan Dennerd as my audiobook. I will then have finished my reread for this series! Looking forward to whenever the next book comes out.

I am reading The Silence of Bones by June Hur. It is for a blog tour I am a part of next week. I’m not very fair so I don’t have an opinion yet, lol.

Recently Finished:

I recently finished Prince Caspian by C.S. Lewis and Body Language by Marylee Macdonald.

I loved Prince Caspian! It was just so good. I have been enjoying rereading this series.

Reading Next:

I will be listening to A Court of Thorns and Roses by Sarah J. Maas next. It’s time to start that reread.

I will be reading The King of Attolia by Megan Whalen Turner. It’s been average series but I’m still curious enough to continue.

What is your current read? Are you loving it? Have you read or want to read any that I have listed? Let me know in the comments!

Hello, fellow bookworms!

Today’s post is a tag that was created by Something of the Book and she has a whole list of Friday Favorites to follow.

Book recommendations are something that I love! It’s awesome to see what others have liked so much that they want to share those books with the whole world! I have books that I recommend all the time and if you haven’t already read them then I suggest doing so!

Here is my list of books I would recommend you must read:

1.) The Illuminae Files
This will always be my number one most recommended series ever!

Hello, fellow book lovers!

Book Birthdays (2/12/2019)

Happy Book Birthday to these books!

I am looking forward to starting Bloodwitch! I have been waiting for what feels like forever and I am just so excited! I preordered a copy of Spectacle and even though I read it as an eARC, I absolutely loved it! Crown of Feathers is on waitlist at my library and I can’t wait to dive in when it becomes available. The other ones I have read and reviewed so if you are curious you can find a review on my blog!

Arc Review: Bloodwitch(Preview Excerpt) by Susan Dennard

When I saw that NetGalley had an excerpt for Bloodwitch by Susan Dennard I knew I needed to request it even if it meant waiting to find out the rest until February 12th, 2019.

Frankly, I don’t even know where to begin! Even though it was just a preview excerpt I feel like I was given so much yet so little. As you know, I finished this series last month and bought the Faecrate Hangover Kit for this specific book. I am so glad I picked up this series because I am invested! Usually a series sometimes gets worse as it goes on but I feel that Bloodwitch will not disappoint. It has really added to the characters we have already met and given a few of them more background and such good twists. I hope the rest of the book is just as good as the beginning because if it is then I am sure I will shed a few tears. Honestly, if you haven’t picked up this series yet I would highly suggest doing so. You do not want to miss this book!

Thank you Macmillan-Tor/Forge and Susan Dennard for this preview excerpt.

December TBR Goals

Hello! and Happy December 1st!

I have yet to write my November Wrap-Up but don’t worry, it’s coming!

Today I thought I would write about what I plan to accomplish in December when it comes to reading and hopefully this will help me stay accountable if it is written down. (I can only hope, hah)

TBR in December:

  1. The Girl in the Tower
  2. Bloodwitch (preview excerpt)
  3. The Winter of the Witch (NetGalley)
  4. Grishaverse Trilogy
  5. Railhead Trilogy
  6. Escaping from Houdini
  7. Dead Queen’s Club (NetGalley)
  8. Six of Crows Duology
  9. Dark of the West (NetGalley)
  10. A Danger to Herself and Others (NetGalley)

The list isn’t in any particular order but as you can see it is quite long! In November I read 15 books so I am hoping to stick around that number if not more! (fingers crossed)

What are a couple books you are hoping to read this month?
