Monthly Wrap-Up & Yearly Review | December 2023

Hello Lovely Readers!

This isn’t as late as some other wrap-ups and at least I am getting to it since I didn’t for November. 😂

December was a very busy month with the holidays but things have at least started to slow down. I did manage to read quite a bit and still find time for videogames. There was also a lot of back and forth with insurance which is annoying and now we are switching insurances due to a buyout from my husband’s work so I feel like it is back to square one once again. I can never win it seems!

Other than that, there was a lot of time spent with family. I haven’t seen mine for a couple years now and I can’t wait to see them this summer when my younger brother gets married. I am so excited but also sad! He will always be the little baby. My daughter was asked to be the flower girl so we will see how that goes, haha.

This month I managed to read 12 books, 12 audiobooks, and 0 manga/graphic novels.
24 books in total!

  • A Fire Endless (Elements of Cadence #2) by Rebecca Ross (arc)
  • A Lady’s Guide to Fortune-Hunting by Sophie Irwin 🎧 (4.5)

Here are my yearly review stats!

I read 274 books, across 88, 270 pages.

First book and Second Book:

Stats:

I am actually pretty surprised that Romance was the highest! It’s a genre I felt like I didn’t read much and now look at me. 😂

Longest Book (874 pages) and Shortest Book (32 pages):

According to StoryGraphy, the average length of the books I read was 323 pages and it took around 4 days to finish each book.

Least Time Spent (1 day) and Most Time Spent (55 days):

I still haven’t continued on with the sequel to Mistborn….

I spent the most time reading books by Rei Toma, Natsu Hyuuga, and Anashin. All are authors of manga!

My average rating for 2022 was 3.12 ⭐. It’s not bad since it is above the three mark, but I feel like I could have read better books, haha.

My best month was October where I had an average rating of 3.39 ⭐ and my worst month was July with an average rating of 2.63 ⭐…

Most Shelved and Least Shelved:

I read 180 new authors! That is amazing and I can’t wait to see what it is in 2023. I know I have some new favorites.

134 books were a part of a series and only 4 books were rereads.

I ended up dnfing 24 books.

I honestly don’t remember what happened in July. It was a pretty good month and I did get some reading done. I did a lot of gardening as well and it’s been nice to get out more! The sun has definitely done wonders for me.

Monthly Wrap-Up | March 2022

Hello Lovely Readers!

Does anyone else feel like this year is just zooming by? How are we into April already?

This month was pretty busy with travelling to see family and getting through school for my daughter as well as my husband finishing up. They both will finish in May and it will be here sooner than I know. I am not looking forward to everything that comes with it as we will be diving into the unknown. For that, my blogging, and even reading, may take a dip.

At the end of March I started watching Bridgerton and I am hooked! I honestly didn’t think I would like it as much as I have. It has made me cry and laugh out loud. It’s also nice having two computer screens so I can watch and type up blog posts, lol. It’s a win-win.

On another note, my husband and I celebrated 8 years of marriage this month. It’s wild to think it has been so long and yet I have known him for almost 13…Time goes by fast but I wouldn’t change the direction it has went.

I hope you all had a spectacular March as I have! And that April will be just as lovely. ❤

This month I managed to read 13 books, 5 audiobooks, and 6 mangas.

24 books in total!

Monthly Wrap-Up | February 2022

Hello Lovely Readers!

Does anyone else feel like this year is just zooming by?

February was filled with a couple visits to the doctor and just getting back into the swing of things after having the plague in January. I have skipped more blog posts and hopping this month than any other for quite some time. It’s been hard to fit it all in when I have a lot of places to go and homeschooling my daughter. This weekend I have taken some time to write ahead, ones that are reviews. Hopefully I can get back into a schedule. 🤞

My reading has been about the same the last couple of months. I didn’t like a lot of the books I read in February though. I don’t know if it was because of my slump or just not actually enjoying the book. I’m hoping that March goes much better when it comes to ratings.

Other than that, it’s been playing a game here and there and just spending time with my husband and daughter.

This month I managed to read 9 books, 5 audiobooks, and 3 mangas.

17 books in total!

January has come and gone!

This month we went to the in-laws and got the dreaded plague in between, lol. I am still recovering and sometimes this leftover cough is insane! Other than that, everything is pretty much back to normal.

My reading was the same as December and if it wasn’t for audiobooks it wouldn’t have been. During the plague I didn’t read at all and so there was like a week of nothing. It is what it is. I’m glad that I also read some shorter things, haha.

This month I managed to read 8 books, 7 audiobooks, and 3 mangas.

Hello Lovely Readers!

Here is another monthly wrap-up! Not sure how it is December already…

November was a very busy month! My husband has been going into work earlier and now working on weekends. My daughter is still going strong with school as well as my husband. I can tell school is coming to an end for the semester! I will be happy for a break though, but will still continue to do some things with my daughter.

August 2021 Monthly Wrap-Up

Hello Lovely Readers!

Here is another monthly wrap-up! I say this every time but each month goes by so quickly.

August was filled with finding a routine for my daughter and schooling and just getting back into the swing of not having my husband around as much. It took a bit in the beginning but we have managed to finish a month of school so far! I’d say that’s pretty good, haha. I’m going to keep celebrating the small things when it comes to it. My daughter seems to be enjoying it for the most part and having little problems.

I’ve still been playing the usual game, World of Warcraft. It’s been fun and we’ve met a few new friends through it.

My reading wasn’t as great as it has been due to anxiety and just not feeling like it so it took a dip but that’s okay! I did manage to finish all of my arcs recently so I am solely focusing on mood reading through my tbr.

This month I managed to read 11 books and 3 mangas.

14 books in total!

source

My favorite book of the month was both of my 5 star reads! It would be hard to pick between the two.

My least favorite was probably Prince Freya Vol. 5 by Keiko Ishihara. It was disappointing as the series just seems to get worse for me.

  • The Red Palace by June Hur (arc)
  • Beasts of Prey by Ayana Gray (arc)
  • Hooky by Miriam Bonastre Tur (arc/graphic novel)
  • Dark Waters (Small Spaces #3) by Katherine Arden

  • A Fate of Wrath & Flame by K.A. Tucker (3.5 stars)

July 2021 Monthly Wrap-Up

Hello Lovely Readers!

Here is another monthly wrap-up! I say this every time but each month goes by so quickly.

July was an interesting month full of getting stuff ready for my daughter when it comes to homeschooling and just trying to enjoy my “me” time before I will be needed more. It’s bittersweet.

I at least managed to get down to 5 arcs and will be prioritizing those since my reading time will be shorter now. I also didn’t read too much (not close to the usual) because I just didn’t feel like picking up books so it took me a lot longer to get through some. That’s okay though! Sometimes we just need a break.

I’ve still been playing videogames which takes up some of my reading time, ha.

Other than that, it’s been a usual month.

This month I managed to read 18 books and 2 mangas.

20 books in total!

source

My favorite book of the month was Well Matched by Jen DeLucaIt was amazing! I loved reading about April and Mitch. They were perfect.
