synopsis header
A brand new space opera on an epic scale from the New York Times bestselling author of a beloved YA fantasy series.

It was supposed to be a routine research mission on an uncolonized planet. But when xenobiologist Kira Navárez finds an alien relic beneath the surface of the world, the outcome transforms her forever and will alter the course of human history.

Her journey to discover the truth about the alien civilization will thrust her into the wonders and nightmares of first contact, epic space battles for the fate of humankind, and the farthest reaches of the galaxy.” (Goodreads)

I was excited to see this on NetGalley even if it wasn’t the full book. I remember enjoying this author’s YA series back then when I had read it and I plan to do a reread of it soon. This is definitely different for many reasons but it does have an interesting premise.

From what I did read, I think that this is a pretty solid read. Sci-fi can be a bit iffy for me but I am intrigued by the story that he is telling. The characters seem interesting and of course, there is a lot going on. Plus, aliens!

There is a lot of action and plot twists in this one. I’m curious to see how this will all turn out. Time to wait until September!

  1. I hope NetGalley releases the full arc soon! I’m kind of iffy about sci-fi as well, but anything set in space with aliens sounds incredible! Nice review!

    1. I remember reading Eragon but I don’t think I read the last, ha. I do want to revisit it sometime.

  2. I saw this on NetGalley and was about to hit the request button until I noticed it was partial book only. I couldn’t cope with not being allowed to read the whole thing 🙈😂 But it sounds sooooo good! I’m super curious about it. If NetGalley have the full book I will definitely be requesting it 😊😊
