Hello Lovely Readers!
A few weeks ago I read the first volume of a few mangas and thought I’d do mini reviews for each one and let you know if I will be continuing with the series or not. If you like this post let me know and I will continue to do them!
1.) Witch Hat Atelier Vol. 1
“A TOUCH OF MAGIC In a world where everyone takes wonders like magic spells and dragons for granted, Coco is a girl with a simple dream: She wants to be a witch. But everybody knows magicians are born, not made, and Coco was not born with a gift for magic. Resigned to her un-magical life, Coco is about to give up on her dream to become a witch…until the day she meets Qifrey, a mysterious, traveling magician. After secretly seeing Qifrey perform magic in a way she’s never seen before, Coco soon learns what everybody “knows” might not be the truth, and discovers that her magical dream may not be as far away as it may seem…” (Goodreads)
I saw this one from Amanda and knew I needed to pick it up! The graphics are beautiful and the story grasped my attention. I also loved the apprentice outfits! The first volume is free on Kindle Unlimited but sadly the rest are not.
Rating: 5 stars
Continue?: I will continue it eventually but since my library doesn’t have it, it might be awhile before I can purchase the next volume.
2.) Takane & Hana Vol. 1
“The meeting between Takane and Hana ends in an explosive manner, and Hana is convinced that she’ll never have to see that awful Takane again. But Takane actually seems interested in Hana! Exasperated by Takane’s immature attitude, yet amused and intrigued despite herself, Hana wonders if her hilarious rivalry with Takane just might lead to love!” (Goodreads)
I wasn’t a huge fan of the age gap for this one. The characters were also quite immature and they just didn’t keep my attention. The banter was funny at times but that’s about it.
Rating: 3 stars
3.) Waiting for Spring Vol. 1
“A sweet romantic story of a soft-spoken high school freshman and her quest to make friends, Waiting for Spring will delight fans of earnest, fun, and dramatic shojo like Kimi ni Todoke and Say I Love You. Mizuki is a shy girl who’s about to enter high school, and vows to open herself up to new friendships. Of course, the four stars of the boys’ basketball team weren’t exactly the friends she had in mind! Yet, when they drop by the café where she works, the five quickly hit it off. Soon she’s been accidentally thrust into the spotlight, targeted by jealous girls. And will she expand her mission to include… love?” (Goodreads)
I found the first volume on Kindle Unlimited and have been eyeing it for a few months now. I finally decided to read it and I loved it! It was super cute and reminds me a lot of other mangas I have read and loved.
Rating: 5 stars
Continue?: Yes. The other volumes aren’t on Kindle Unlimited and my library has a few of the other volumes.
