How TheGeekishBrunette Was Created:
I used this name because it was the name I chose for my bookstagram account last year. i honestly just wanted something clever that also wasn’t specifically book related because I am a geek for all things when it comes to videogames, anime, manga, etc. I wanted something to fully encompass everything I love. I also am a brunette so that’s where that comes from, lol. It isn’t some great story for my name but I think it describes me well and have stuck with it ever since.
The reason I created this blog was due to my sister. She also told me to make a bookstagram so basically everything is her fault but in a good way, ha. She told me I should share my reviews with the world and I took her advice. A month or so after that I found out about NetGalley and at that time I wasn’t blogging much but NetGalley gave me a reason to. Now, I post all the time and it has been fun to see where my blog goes!
Advice For New Bloggers:
My first piece of advice is to just stick with it. At times it can be discouraging to see other blogs do better than yours. I’ve been there multiple times, even this week, because its easy to get swept into only thinking about the numbers. I have to remind myself it isn’t about that and it’s about sharing what you are passionate about with others. Let your passion be your driving force!
My second piece of advice would be to schedule out your posts! I used to write them the morning of and it sucked a lot. I have got better and try to do them a few days ahead. It makes life easier.
Nominating:
That’s it! Thanks for reading my posts and hopefully this helps you get to know me a bit better!

I totally agree with you about ignoring stats. I think too many people get caught up in the numbers and forget that really we are all here (book) blogging just so we can discuss our passions with likeminded people.

Yup! It definitely needs to be about the passion otherwise it’ll just suck the fun out of it.
