Friday Favorites: Favorite Nerdy Characters

friday favorites

Hello, fellow bookworms!

Today’s post is a tag that was created by Something of the Book and she has a whole list of Friday Favorites to follow. They are awesome and it is a fun way to find new books with a twist and see how others have answered it!

So today’s prompt was a hard one. It took me awhile just to come up with four and three of them are from shows. Don’t judge me! Clearly I need to broaden my reading that includes more.

1.) Velma Dinkley

I’ve always loved Scooby-Doo and have seen the original cartoon episodes more times than I can count. I have always enjoyed Velma over Daphne. I’m glad I finally get to include her in something!

2.) Hermione Granger

Is this even a list if it doesn’t include her? I enjoyed watching the Harry Potter movies and seeing her character development. I recently started the books and am excited to see how different she is in them, if there is any.

3.) Sheldon Cooper

He’s hilarious and smart. That’s all I need to say.

4.) Dwight Schrute

The Office is a show that I will watch forever and never get tired of. If you haven’t watched it yet, you are missing out!

Obviously I am missing out on some cool nerds from books. Tell me some great books to read with a nerdy character! Inform me on what I am missing out!

    1. I had a hard time thinking of book characters that were nerds. I guess I don’t notice them in books or I just don’t read enough with them included, haha. Yay for Hermione!

  1. The main difference about book Hermione vs. movie Hermione is that her character in the book is quite plain. She has buck teeth and her hair is always a total mess. 🙂 Other than the lovely Emma Watson being too pretty for the part, the movie character is pretty faithful to the version in the book.

    1. That’s good to know! I like when movies stick to the characters fairly well but hollywood has a way of making them prettier than they should be!
